what is recognition of prior learning?
We know that your skills and knowledge are directly relevant to our Leadership and Management Diploma. RPL means Recognition of Prior Learning. It is a process where our Institute assesses your life skills, knowledge, and experiences against the requirements of the Nationally Recognised Training Framework for Leadership and Management Competencies. By enrolling in our RPL program, following our instructions and providing us with evidence of your working experience, our team of ICAO training staff will assess your application.
am I eligible?
If you have the following pre-requisites, you may apply for formal recognition of prior learning: there is no need to attend more training.
- Professional flight crew with 5 years of operational experience (Commercial Multi-engine IFR operations)
- Government inspector (Flight Operations or Airworthiness) with 5 years of operational experience
- Flight Instructor (Grade 2 or higher) with 7 years of operational experience
- LAME with 5 years of operational experience
- Cabin supervisor with 7 years of operational experience
- Safety department officer or investigator with 7 years of operational experience
- Aerodrome supervisor or manager with 7 years of operational experience
- Ground handling supervisor or manager with 7 years of operational experience.
RPL process
The assessment process starts with an application. If your application for enrolmetn is successful, our Institute will send you a log in to our website. There you will complete a assessment tasks, verify your identity and upload your evidence portfolio. A case officer will be assigned to you, to help you through the process from start to award. The time to complete the RPL process is different for each individual, but averages one month from the date of application.
