If you work at a small country aerodrome as a reporting officer, start here.
This entry-level three-day Aerodrome Reporting Officer course prepares you for work as an ARO and works safety officer (WSO) at a regional aerodrome or small country airstrip that is not certified or registered but served by RPT or by charter operations at least once per week.
Aerodrome Reporting Officers inspect critical areas of the airfield to ensure runways, taxiways, aircraft movement areas and airport infrastructure is safe for use. The course is based on the Australian Manual of Standards MOS Part 139—Aerodromes and is designed for anyone who wants to work as a reporting officer.
ARO training is also of benefit to management and staff who need to understand the regulations and technical aspects of aerodromes, and who are responsible for management systems and monitoring processes that keep their aerodrome compliant.
Our instructors will teach you how to:
1. Conduct routine inspections of runways and aerodrome infrastructure;
2. Report the condition of runways, navigational equipment, and facilities; and,
3. Supervise maintenance workers.
Your textbook, handbook, and log-in to our online learning classroom—where you can view videos and complete your interactive assessments ensures you have sufficient learning material to complete the course. For practice, you will use our aerodrome simulator to rehearse your inspections and reporting of various operational scenarios. You will leave the class with the confidence to start work. There are no pre-requisite requirements for this course.
This course prepares you for the next step in your career—the nationally recognised ARO skill set.
ASSET Aviation Institute is Australia’s only ICAO accredited aviation educator. The certificate tells the world that you are a world-class aerodrome reporting officer.
